There isn’t a single day in 2001, except September 11th, that I can recall exactly what I was doing, where I was sitting, what I was wearing, who I was with.

I don’t think many people do. That’s not how memory works. You lose things after a decade. You’re supposed to. Tiny, unimportant details fade so that you can make room for all the newer, more wonderful things you need to remember, to move forward.

But there was nothing tiny or unimportant about anything that day, which is probably why it still feels so close and so raw, even after all this time.

As if we could ever forget…we remember all those whose lives were lost, touched and changed on this day one decade ago.

May God bless us all and may God bless America.
