![A very happy GOLDEN [!!] birthday to the Boyfriend!
In no particular order, here is a list of 28 of my most favorite things about you:
1. the way you sing the wrong lyrics [loudly] to every song
2. that you rarely get flustered
3. your belly laugh [it’s contagious]
4. your fierce loyalty to family, friends and me
5. the way you pretend to hate some of my shows, but occasionally I catch you watching them on your own
6. your head-shake reaction when something is gross [unless you do it in reaction to something I cooked, then it is not my favorite thing]
7. that you are the nicest drunk person on the planet
8. your patient explanations for my myriad questions regarding [but not limited to] the rules of ice hockey, finance/your job, and where we should plan our next trip
9. your patient listening regarding [but not limited to] celebrity gossip, fashion, politics, and Rihanna
10. your impeccable moral compass
11. that you suggest trips and visits with my friends or family because you know when I’m homesick, and that you are happy to come along just so I can feel better
12. the humor and levity you can inject into nearly any situation when appropriate [and that you know when it is and isn’t appropriate]
13. the way you look in that blue and red check shirt
14. your unfailing kindness, even to people who don’t always deserve it
15. the way you wiggle your fingers when you are very, very liquor-drunk
16. the way you love things unapologetically even after they stop being cool [see: T.I.’s “You Can Have Whatever You Like”]
17. that when you roll over, you make sure our feet are still touching
18. your sense of fairness
19. that you leave your hair a little longer just because you know I like it better
20. the weird noises you make to announce your boredom
21. your work ethic and desire to build on success
22. when you roll your eyes at my shopping, but then you tell me it was worth it because I look pretty
23. that after almost 10 years of knowing each other and 4.5 of dating, you still tell me I’m pretty…and are sincere
24. your desire to see the world. All of it, not just the nice parts
25. the way you shuffle your feet and call it dancing
26. your head throw-back when you think something is really funny
27. that you keep choosing to share your life with me every day
28. the way this list will make you uncomfortable because you are humble and sometimes unaware of what a catch you are
